Drill String Services performs full-body ultrasonic pipe inspections using the A-SCAN-2000™, which is designed to meet the most stringent industry requirements for new and used drill pipe, tubing and casing and heavy-wall landing strings.

Using high-speed ultrasonic technology and a computerized data acquisition system, inspection reports are formatted to exceed industry standards provided in the latest edition of T.H. Hill DS-1. The computerized electronics system provides unparalleled accuracy and can accommodate pipe diameters ranging from 2-3/8 inch to 12-3/8 inch and range 2 or 3 lengths. The UT scanning head has fully adjustable transducer positions to allow for the implementation of infinite angles as specified by the customer.

This true immersion technology allows sound transmission to travel into the pipe wall, surpassing the capabilities of older wedge systems.
